A Perry High School teacher was honored recently by a state organization with a prestigious award.
Instructional Coach and Bluejay Congress Advisor Brenda Mintun was selected by the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association as the 2019-2020 Outstanding Service Award honoree. Each year, Mintun is responsible for organizing homecoming activities including Volunteer Day, which gets students and staff out into the community to help with various tasks and projects. Additionally, she is the co-chairperson for the school’s annual Veteran’s Day Celebration, serving as the primary link between the District and local veterans groups.
The Perry administration and staff were universal in their praise of Mintun, saying they felt she was very deserving of such an honor.
