This weekend will be a busy one in Dallas County, with several Presidential candidates paying a visit. The final event of the weekend will be with an individual who not so long ago held the second-highest elected position in the country.
Former Vice President Joe Biden will make an appearance at La Poste in Perry Sunday evening, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the event starting at 6:30. The meet and greet is free to attend and open to the public, though RSVPs are encouraged. This will be Biden’s first official visit to the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, though his wife Dr. Jill Biden campaigned for him in Perry this November.
Joe Biden is one of 15 individuals vying for the Democratic nomination for President in the June 2020 primary election. He launched his “No Malarky” bus tour around the state a few weeks ago, in order to gain momentum prior to the Iowa Caucuses in February. His visit is the third of three by Democratic Presidential hopefuls this weekend, which include an appearance by New Jersey Senator Cory Booker in Adel Friday, and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttegieg in Perry Sunday afternoon.
