The dance teams at Perry, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, and Dallas Center-Grimes high schools recently competed at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association (ISDTA) Team Championships, and the squads enjoyed some success.
Perry’s Pulse Dance Team took part in three different events, earning “I” ratings for each of their performances. The Perry dancers came in 6th in both the Class X Pom and Class VI Hip Hop groups, and 4th in the Large School Hoopla. The ADM team also took home “I” ratings in each of their two events, which included an 8th place finish in Class VI Hip Hop and 6th in Class II Contemporary. Finally, the DCG team earned a pair of “I” ratings, placing 11th in Class XII Pom and 9th in Class VI Hip Hop.
The ISDTA Team Championships were held December 5th and 6th at Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. The squads performed for four judges who gave them a score out of 100, and their places and ratings were determined by their average score.
