An Ogden woman faces multiple charges following two separate incidents in Jefferson.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, 36-year-old Jessica Jo Peterson is charged with a Class D Felony for third-degree burglary and a simple misdemeanor for fifth-degree theft. She is additionally charged with an aggravated misdemeanor for third-degree burglary, a serious misdemeanor for unlawful possession of prescription drugs and a simple misdemeanor for fifth-degree theft.

The felony burglary and theft charges stem from an incident on Sunday, December 8th. Police responded to an attempted burglary at Walton Woods Community Center. Officers found the interior office door was damaged and Peterson allegedly took several items.

The misdemeanors for burglary, unlawful possession of prescription drugs and theft stem from an incident on Monday, December 9th. Peterson allegedly entered the middle school, before the school day started, and took items from a locker room. She then tried to re-enter the building, and the building was then placed in a lockdown.

Peterson then entered the administrative building and was later arrested there. Evidence from both incidents were recovered from Peterson. Peterson was booked and later released from the Greene County Jail on her own recognizance following Monday’s incident. An arrest warrant has been requested for Sunday’s incident and once Peterson has been apprehended, she will be booked into jail under the new charges.
