The third annual winter holiday gift basket silent auction hosted by the Dallas County Hospital Foundation is winding down, so the public is advised to get serious about bidding for their desired prize.
After a brief stint at the Perry Public Library, the 10 holiday-themed baskets are back in the hospital’s atrium, with the final day for bidding set for Tuesday, December 17th. DCH Foundation and Marketing Manager Macinzie McFarland says this is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, with the baskets provided by hospital staff and board members. “We actually kick off the basket making with our employee giving campaign. So that’s another thing that we do at the hospital and clinics to raise money for the Foundation, because the Foundation’s whole goal is to have $100,000 in support of Dallas County Hospital and Family Medicine Clinics each year. So it’s really important for us to have these fundraisers and raise that money, so that we’re able to do all the things that we do throughout the year.”
McFarland says most of the proceeds will be used for the yearly scholarship program, but there’s also things like community education programs that are funded through the Foundation.
