Friday, December 6th
3:12am: A caller reported a couple outside arguing at 619 South Olive Street. The officer made contact with the couple, who advised they had been involved in a verbal argument but it was now over. No action was taken by the officer.
9:08am: Frances Baker reported someone had backed into her vehicle while parked at 102 South Grimmell Road. She requested no police report to be made, as she was dealing with her insurance company.
12:10pm: An officer spoke to the resident at 606 North Locust Street about raking leaves from her yard into the street. She removed the leaves from the roadway.
12:59pm: Kimber Murphy reported a Careless Driver on 237 th Street, heading into Jefferson. The officer located the vehicle and performed a Traffic Stop in the 900 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. Fitiwi Abrhe of Perry was cited for, “Violation of Conditions of Restricted License.”
1:45pm: Melinda Millard reported a possible No Contact Violation. The officer determined a violation had not occurred, and took no action.
5:03pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of North Wilson Ave.
5:21pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance and the Medical Examiner with a Death Scene in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street.
9:34pm Mark Tasler requested an officer at 1000 West Adams Street #20, for an Unwanted Person in his apartment. The officer did not locate anyone in the apartment.
9:45pm: Steve Schwaller reported a male on a bicycle was removing construction items from the site at 115 West State Street. The officers did not locate the subject in the area.
10:42pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and State Streets resulted in Liberty Holt Johnson of Adel being cited for, “Insufficient Number of Headlamps.”
11:02pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of Wild Rose Lane.
11:33pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Life Line Call in the 100 Block of North Maple Street.
11:47pm: Danny Robison advised of a group of juveniles messing around 402 North Maple Street. They ran from the residence when he stepped outside. The officers did not locate anyone in the area.
Saturday, December 7th
10:44am: Gina Areo reported a Careless Driver on South Elm Street. The vehicle was not located.
2:37pm: A Traffic Stop in the 900 Block of North Cedar Street resulted in Ian Schmidt of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
3:56pm: Meritza Paniagua reported a Hit & Run Accident at 401 North Chestnut Street. The vehicle had been parked in the area for a few hours. When she returned to the 2019 Kia Sportage, she found $500.00 in damages to the rear bumper of the vehicle. The officer is investigating.
4:42pm: Donna Helms reported a Suspicious Vehicle with no plates in the 700 Block of Sunset Drive. Officers responded and eventually located the vehicle in the area. A Traffic Stop was performed with the vehicle in the 900 Block of South Elm Street. Elisabeth Zieman of Des Moines was cited for, “Failure to Have a Valid Driver’s License.” The vehicle was missing the VIN Plate from the dash and the driver could not show proof of ownership, or Proof of Financial Liability. The officer towed the vehicle to Impound. During a Vehicle Inventory of the vehicle, officers located suspected drug related items and seized them for testing. Charges pending lab results.
6:20pm: Nicole Borkowski reported a possible Violation of a No Contact Order at 505 North Grimmell Road. The officer determined a violation had not occurred and took no action.
7:09pm: A Traffic Stop in the 600 Block of Hwy 30 East resulted in William Goddard of Ft. Dodge being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
8:19pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of Ram Drive.
Sunday, December 8th
1:11pm: Jack Lewis reported a stray dog in the 100 Block of North Maple Street. The officer made attempts to catch the animal, but it ran from the officer.
1:30pm: Duane Forkner reported his granddaughter had located a known male sleeping in her garage at 600 West Washington Street. She told the male to leave before she returned back home from church. She returned home and located damage to a window of her residence. She asked the officer to locate the male and advise him not to return. The officer is trying to locate the male and pass on her wishes to stay off her property.
2:16pm: Mark Rasmussen called to advise his dogs had gotten loose again from 1701 Westwood Drive. The officer located the animals around 2200 hours and returned them to Rasmussen. He was cited for, “Animal at Large Prohibited.”
2:42pm: Zoe Havens reported she captured a stray dog running loose in the 500 Block of Stanford. The officer returned the animal to the owner with a Verbal Warning.
7:09pm: Rachel Thomas reported she nearly struck a stray dog near Washington Park. The officer was unable to locate the animal.
7:57pm: Connie Ross reported her juvenile son had ran away from 615 South Olive Street after an argument. The officer later located the juvenile and returned him home to his parents.
8:54pm: Hanna Nelson reported she had captured a stray dog in the 600 Block of West Clark Street. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
10:24pm: HyVee reported to an officer that they believed a suspect had entered the business at 106 West Washington Street and purchased alcohol. He left the store and gave the items to suspected underage persons. The store has provided the officer with video and the investigation continues.
11:10pm: The business at 209 North Chestnut Street reported damage to a window, which appeared to have been caused by a BB gun. The officer is investigating.
Monday, December 9th
8:58am: The Greene County Middle School reported a female in the building at 203 West Harrison Street. It was reported the female was wondering through the school and had removed items from a locker room and left the building. The school reported they were in “Lock Down.” The officers arrived and could not locate the female. She had also entered a staff members vehicle and removed items from it before leaving the area. At about 1047 hrs, officers were called to the School Administration Building at 204 West Madison Street, as the female was now inside this building. Officers arrived and placed the female in custody. She advised the officers that she was homeless as an excuse for her actions in the school buildings. Officers later spoke with officials in Ogden, who advised she is not homeless and lives in their community. Jessica Jo Peterson, 36 of Ogden has been charged with, “Burglary 3rd Degree- Aggravated, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs – Serious, and Theft 5th Degree – Simple.” The Lock Down at the school was lifted at about 10:55am: with the arrest of the subject.
9:45am:, Walton Woods reported an overnight Attempted Burglary to the Business Office at 1000 West Adams Street. The office door showed signs of an attempt to gain entry with a prying type tool. The officer is waiting for video surveillance footage of the area from overnight. The investigation continues.
12:57pm: The Moe’s Mart advised of a stray dog at 303 North Elm Street. The animal’s owner had retrieved his dog before the officer arrived.
1:37pm: An officer spoke to a resident in the 700 Block of West Sunset Street about a vehicle reported to have been parked in the street for several days. The subject immediately removed the vehicle from the street.
2:01pm: Amelia Kennedy reported finding a stray dog in the 300 Block of East State Street. She was going to keep the dog at her residence and attempt to find the owner through social media.
6:52pm: A caller advised of a Careless Driver on 220 th Street, heading west into Jefferson. The officers located the empty vehicle parked in the lot at 777 Wild Rose Lane and took no further action.
8:06pm: Oly’s Corner turned in an Iowa Driver’s License that was found at 208 West Lincoln Way Street.
8:16pm: Casey’s reported a small fuel spill at 508 North Elm Street. The responding officer recommended placing cat litter on the small area to clean up the fuel. No further action required.
11:24pm: A Parking Violation Notice was issued in the 400 Block of South Vine for, “Truck/RV/Trailer Parking Violation.”
