The Perry School Board convened Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting started with the retiring of the previous Board and accepting the election canvass, followed by swearing in the members who were re-elected. They then chose Kyle Baxter and Linda Andorf to continue serving as Board President and Vice President, respectively. They also kept the same time and location for regular meetings for the next year, assigned members to committees, and appointed Andorf as the representative to the State Legislature and Dallas County Conference Board.
In general business, the Board approved creating the positions of pit director and choreographer for the upcoming spring musical and future shows, as well as the title of Assistant Drill/Dance Coach. Other items approved included: a contract with Metro West Learning Center; revisions to Board policies; early graduation requests; revisions to the voluntary early retirement policy and activating the program; and the specifications for a new school bus. Finally, the Board approved a resolution setting an election in March for a revenue purpose statement related to the state’s Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) fund, as now required by the State Legislature.
