The Jefferson Elks Lodge #2306 is hosting the local Hoops Shoot contest Saturday.

It will take place at the Greene County Middle School gym in Jefferson. Check-ins start at 8am with the contest to begin at 9. There are three age and gender divisions, with 8-9, 9-10 and 10-11-year-old girls and boys, with the winners of each to advance onto the district contest at Storm Lake in January. The initial qualifiers were selected from the elementary school physical education classes. 

Winners are decided from the most made free throws out of 25. Winners will also receive a trophy from the local lodge. Volunteers are still needed for the Saturday contest. Call the Jefferson Elks Lodge at 515-386-2106.
