This past Tuesday, both the Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams of Dallas Center-Grimes High School picked up wins in the season opening doubleheader of the winter.
The DC-G Girls’ were able to keep their perfect record in tact with a nail biting win over Carlisle, 43-42. Jordan Cunningham hit a game winning free throw to seal the win for the Fillies on Tuesday. Cunningham lead all scorers with 22 points.
The DC-G Boys’ were very impressive in a blowout win over Carlisle. Cole Glasgow put up 19 points on Tuesday, with 18 added by Luke Rankin. DC-G took the win 61-23 over Carlisle. DC-G held the Wildcats to just 13 points after three quarters of play.
Tonight, it’s another doubleheader in Grimes between DC-G and Newton. The Newton Girls’ come to Grimes with a 2-1 record with wins over Perry and Chariton, while the Newtow Boys’ opened their season with a win over Chariton on Tuesday, 53-46.
The Girls’ game tips off at 6:15pm, with the Boys’ set to go at 7:45pm.
