J.D. Scholten at Greene Bean Coffee during kick-off tour this past August

A Democratic candidate for Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District will be making a campaign stop in Greene County next week.

J.D. Scholten will be at the Churdan Public Library Wednesday, December 11th from 5-6pm. The stop is part of the Sioux City native’s “Don’t Forget About Us” tour. Scholten is holding a town hall in each of the district’s 39 counties in a town with less than 1,000 people. Scholten is running for the Democratic nomination for Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District. He lost last year to Republican incumbent Steve King by three-percentage points. King is running for re-election and will be facing Republican challengers in next June’s primary, including Woodbury County Supervisor Jeremy Taylor, Iowa Senator Randy Feenstra and former businessman Bret Richards.

Scholten’s town hall event is free and open to the public.
