Greene County used a relentless 1-2-2 full court press to wear down the Bluejays 65-27 spoiling the season opener for Perry. The Bluejays were without two regular ball handlers in Kato Dougan (shoulder) and Brendan Ivory (undisclosed). Keeghan West led Perry with 14 points despite being forced to bring the ball up for the majority of the night due to the Perry struggles at the guard position. Greene County’s Carter Morton dominated the game with his athleticism finishing with 23 points, 8 assists and 8 steals. Morton provided some early fireworks with a one handed slam dunk early in the first quarter.
Perry will host Carroll in the Raccoon River Conference opener Friday night.
