A deputy checked a reported suspicious and unattended pickup truck on Neola Avenue at 280th Street.
A deputy was advised of a careless and erratic driver near the school in Grand Junction. A deputy will be contacting the young driver of that vehicle about his driving skills.
A deputy was asked to locate a deer that had been struck and injured on Tuesday evening near 185th Street and V Avenue. The deer was located and the deputy issued a salvage tag to a Greene County resident for consumption of the deer meat.
A deputy was dispatched to a car deer accident on Neola Avenue, just north of 265th Street. A 2004 Saturn Ion that is owned and was being driven by Alice Charlene Holmes of Jamaica, Iowa, was southbound on Neola Avenue when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck by Holmes. Alice Holmes was not injured but her vehicle sustained an estimated $4000 in damages. Holmes was able to drive her car from the scene. The deer was severely injured and was put down by the deputy.
A deputy was advised of a careless driver in Grand Junction. The reported pickup truck was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.
A deputy and Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to a reported one vehicle rollover accident that occurred on 130th Street near P Avenue. A 1997 Chevrolet Blazer that was being driven by twenty one year old Neil Edward McDowell of Jefferson was westbound on 130th Street when he reported to the deputy that he fell asleep and struck the bridge just west of P Avenue. McDowell reported that he then became startled and drove into the north ditch rolling the vehicle onto its side. Neil McDowell was transported to the Greene County Medical center for further evaluation. The McDowell vehicle sustained an estimated $4000.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
