A longtime volunteer with Dallas County Conservation is retiring, and the Board is seeking someone to take over.

For the last 10 years, Dodie Davis has maintained and beautified the Redfield Depot and Redfield Dam on behalf of the Conservation Board. She stated that she loved bringing the beauty of nature alive for the bikers, townspeople, and other passers-by, and had a lot of enjoyment in volunteering, creating, and decorating in Redfield. Unfortunately for Conservation, Davis’s departure creates a rather large hole in their volunteer coverage, so they’re asking community members to take up the mantle. The caretaker has agreed to stay on until a replacement is found, and will train that person or people in how to maintain the Depot and Dam.

Conservation emphasizes that the two locales are highly visible and popular, so they hope to find someone who brings the same level of passion Davis has shown for a decade. The Board thanked her for her dedication and wished her well.
