AC/GC Head Cross Country Coach Colin Shawgo was recognized by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches as one of the best coaches of the 2019 season.

The IATC released their 2019 coach of the year selections last week. Shawgo was named one of the five At Large Coaches of the Year for his work with the girls team in Class 2A. This was the first year AC/GC cross country competed at the 2A level, and they did not miss a beat. The girl’s team started the season unranked, and finished fifth at the state championship race in Fort Dodge. This will wrap up the Charger’s 2019 cross country season. They’ll look to build of a successful year as they bring back four of their six state qualifiers.
