A Bayard man was convicted on multiple felony drug offenses this week.
Court documents show that after 28-year-old Brandon John Niedowicz filed a guilty plea earlier this month, he was convicted of possessing less than five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony; gathering where meth is unlawfully used, a class D felony; and one count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. For the first count Niedowicz was given a suspended 10-year prison sentence and was placed on three years probation. Five year and two year prison sentences for the other two counts were also suspended, and he was placed on three years probation for those counts, to be served concurrently with the first count. He must pay over $13,000 for fines, jail fees, medical reimbursement, court costs and fees, and surcharges.
Two other counts of child endangerment and two other misdemeanor charges were dismissed. He must also abide by a five-year no contact order for three protected minors. This conviction stems from an August 1st incident when Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of North Street in Bayard. Marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were found, and three children were at the home during the search.
