A Glidden man faces multiple charges after a single vehicle wreck occurred in Guthrie County Monday.
According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Nicholas Ray Wothe was driving a GMC Sierra truck eastbound on 100th Street at about 3:14 p.m. when he lost control and entered the south ditch striking an embankment. Wothe appeared to be heavily intoxicated and admitted to abusing his prescription medication. He submitted to a preliminary breath test which indicated an alcohol concentration over the legal limit of .08. Wothe was then transported by Panora Emergency Medical Services to the Guthrie County Hospital for possible injuries and implied consent was invoked for a blood test. Wothe was charged with operating while intoxicated-second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor; open container, a simple misdemeanor; and was cited for failure to maintain control.
