A popular Perry tradition is coming soon, but before it does the community is encouraged to get involved. It’s the 6th Annual Festival of Trees at the Carnegie Library Museum.
Businesses, organizations, churches, and even individuals are encouraged to flex their creativity by decorating a tree to be displayed between November 21st and December 20th. The best part is, it’s free to take part and you don’t need to know what your submission will be until later this month. Organizers say they already have around 37 participants signed up, but they’d like to get plenty more to better fill up the museum and bring a bigger audience for the showcase. The hosts point out it’s a good way to get some free publicity for your business or organization, and there are even bragging rights to be had for the trees voted most popular by the public.
The set up time will be November 18th and 20th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., and participants are asked to sign up now. The annual event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for Perry Hometown Heritage and the Carnegie, and has become a popular holiday destination for people throughout central Iowa.
