The cross-country season is over for the Greene County High School girls and boys. The girls ended Oct. 24 in a Class 2A State Qualifying Meet hosted by Panorama High School at the Lake Panorama Par Three Golf Course, while the boys’ season came to a close in a 3A meet in Atlantic. Both Greene County teams placed 11th out of 13 teams.

Head Coach Jeff Lamoureux and assistant Lindsey Duncan saw progress this season, especially from the boys, and Coach Lamoureux comments. “We wanted to see progress this year and we did. Our boys were mostly middle of the pack in meets this year after being toward the bottom in recent seasons, and most of the point scorers for the boys will return. Luis Velazco and Connor Brus are juniors, and the others are freshmen and sophomores.”

Three of the five main point scorers for the Greene County girls are seniors.
