The Perry High School Drama Department is getting ready to present their fall play at the beginning of November, and this particular show will be unlike any the community has seen.

The play is called “The Only Thing Between Me and Total Awesomeness,” and Director Randy Peterson says it’s made up of several short skits around that central theme. It will be performed over two days at the Perry Performing Arts Center, and features a large ensemble cast. One of those cast members, senior Kaylynn Bousman, was involved in selecting the play, and she says it will be a great vessel to show off the overall talent of Perry’s theater program. “Since we have a bunch of little skits going on, it’s really a chance to see everyone’s acting abilities. There’s not just the main three people and then people supporting, it’s everybody has their own main role. Like there are people who have been seen throughout their high school career, and they’re typically like playing a side character just because they were just a little bit off from being that main, lead character. And then all of a sudden you’re seeing them in this spotlight with monologues, and I think it’s just amazing to see what everyone can do.”

The Perry fall play will be held November 8th and 9th, at 7 p.m. each night, and the cost is $5 per ticket. You can get tickets ahead of time at the high school office.
