Area cross country teams and individuals will be trying to punch their ticket to the big dance later today.
Cross country squads from AC/GC and Panorama will be running in the state qualifying meet in Panora. On the girls side, AC/GC comes in ranked ninth in Class 2A. The Chargers are ranked ahead of Panorama for the first time this season as a team. The Panthers girls team is one slot behind AC/GC at #10. Individually, AC/GC’s Kate Crawford is ranked third in the state. Rylee Sloss is the Chargers other ranked runner coming in at #26. For Panorama, Ella Waddle is their lone ranked runner who is slated at #5. At last year’s state qualifying meets, AC/GC finished third as a team on their home course. Crawford finished third individually in Class 1A. Panorama was able to walk away with a team championship at their meet in Class 2A. The Panthers were led by Ella Waddle who finished in first place, and Payton Beckman who took home fifth.
On the boys side, AC/GC is on IowaRunJumpThrow.com’s watch list. At last weeks WCAC meet, The Chargers were led by freshman Justin Reinhart and Miles Kading. Panroama’s top finishers were Emry Colby and Landon Goodenberger.
