The portion of the Raccoon River Valley area that needs the most rain continues to be the part that seems to miss out on the storms.
The northwest portion of Greene County continues to suffer from extreme drought conditions while the rest of the county and northern board of Guthrie County is still classified as in a severe drought. Dallas County and the rest of Guthrie County continue to experience moderate drought conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center received 1.6 inches more than their normal monthly rainfall total of 2.62 inches this month. Perry received just over their normal monthly amount of around 2.5 inches and Jefferson was about an inch shy of their normal amount of 2.44 inches.
Our next shot at rain comes Monday with a 40 percent chance of showers.
