The Perry Industrial Park was the site of this month’s Chamber of Commerce Coffee event, with Percival Scientific playing host in honor of National Manufacturing Month.
The networking program began with a speech from Gary Wheelock, the President and CEO of Percival, who talked about the company’s 130-year history that began with developing refrigerated display cases for small grocery stores. The manufacturer now makes customized research chambers for schools and laboratories around the world, and has been located in Perry since the year 2000. Following the presentation, attendees were invited to tour the facility and learn more about the work being done, which many didn’t know was happening in their own backyard.
The Perry Chamber hosts the Coffee events the second Friday morning of each month, with a different location every time. The destination for November will be Great Western Bank. The events are free and open to the public, and refreshments are provided. The Chamber believes the program is a great way to bring people together to network and learn more about what’s going on in the community.
