McFarland Clinic in Jefferson has hired a new physician for its family medicine department.

Dr. Jeffrey Richards earned his doctorate degree of osteopathic medicine at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His post-baccalaureate work was done at the University of Iowa after he received his emergency medical technician-b certificate from Kirkwood Community College. Dr. Richards completed his family medicine residency at UnityPoint Health Trinity Medical Center. 

As a family medicine physician, the services that Dr. Richards will provide include: acute care for short-term illnesses, preventative care, health screenings and physical exams for all ages, immunizations, and treatment of complex/long-term medical conditions. He will start with McFarland Clinic in Jefferson next month.
