Two of the best football teams in Class 1A will be squaring off tonight in what could determine the district eight championship.

The Van Meter Bulldogs are ranked #2 in the state by the Des Moines Register. Panroama is not far behind, coming in at #10. Both teams are 6-0 and are the last two undefeated teams in the district. They also happen to be #1 and #2 in the initial RPI standings, with Van Meter edging Panorama for the top spot. In last years matchup, Van Meter won 36-6. With that said, we’ve seen a much more focused Panther squad. Panorama has already defeated three teams who they lost to in 2018. Van Meter could be the fourth.

The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. in Panora.
