Next year, Dallas County Conservation will be taking people on a big trip to Idaho, and coming soon is the next informational meeting for the program.
In the summer of 2020, the Conservation Department will be leading their next Adult Wilderness Backpacking Trek, this time bringing participants on an 11-day journey through north-central Idaho that will include hiking and camping. To prepare people for it, on Wednesday, October 9th from 7:30-9 p.m., Conservation is hosting what they’re calling the “One Small Step – Wilderness” event. Attendees will meet at the Kuehn Conservation Area, and will engage in walking conversation around the trails with the trek leaders. There will also be an opportunity for participants to ask questions they have leading up to next summer’s trip. The walkabout will end with a campfire, where the application process and timeline will be shared.
There is no cost to attend the informational meeting, and registration is not required. Dallas County Conservation has held adult wilderness treks twice before, in 2011 and 2015.
