The Perry Farmers Market wrapped up for the year last week, and the Chamber of Commerce has had a chance to reflect on how the season went.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says they had more vendors this year than they’ve ever had before, which also led to an increased amount of shoppers each week. That in turn led to more activity for the businesses downtown, so she feels this year’s market was a success all around. Pasutti points out, some of the big changes for this year were expanding from Josh Davis Plaza into 2nd Street in order to accommodate the increased number of vendors, and holding a special market each month. In both cases, she was happy with how the changes went. “Hearing feedback from shoppers and vendors and downtown merchants, the growth that we’ve seen at the farmers market has been so huge. And so seeing that momentum go and already getting excited for next season, I think is very good. And you know, everyone has different opinions on location and timing and activities and things like that. But again, it’s that growth that we’re seeing, and more activity downtown that’s really been powerful.”

Pasutti adds, there is an online survey the public can take to provide direct feedback on the farmers market, and she encourages everyone to take five minutes to fill it out.
