Don’t forget, the Perry High School Homecoming Week reaches a pivotal moment tonight, with the coronation ceremony for this year’s king and queen.

Student Council Advisor Brenda Mintun says the community is encouraged to come to the event, which will be held in the high school gym and will include a wide range of presentations. “We have a lot of great activities represented. The dance (team) is going to do a couple performances, we have the cheerleaders do a dance, we have (an) honorary king and queen we hope will get back for that – Ron Davis and Beverly Davis. That’ll be our first legacy of the honorary king and queen, the son of Gail Davis. So just a lot of fun, and our band plays, and then we move out to the bonfire after the crowning.”

Mintun adds, because of the construction on the north end of the school, the students won’t leave the gym their normal route. Instead they will head out to the bonfire using the main west entrance. As a reminder, Raccoon Valley Radio will be on hand to broadcast the coronation ceremony tonight at 8 p.m. on AM 1310, FM 99.7 KDLS. Included in the program will be interviews with each of the 10 Homecoming Court members, and a live interview with the newly crowned king and queen. This year’s queen candidates include: Angela Hernandez, Carly Herrera, Jasmin Olmos, Magley Orellana, and Hannah Peterson. The contenders for king include: Chase Archer, Tony Burgos, Sean Parnell, Wilber Ramirez, and Ever Tobar.
