The Stuart City Council met for a special session Monday.
The meeting began with the Council approving to set their next regular meeting date of October 14th for a public hearing on designation of the expanded Stuart Urban Renewal Area and an amendment to the urban renewal plan. The amendment would expand the City’s tax increment financing district in order to capture some revenue of a neighboring wind farm in Adair County. The Adair County Board of Supervisors have so far given their verbal approval of this venture.
Next, the Council approved setting another public hearing for October 14th on proposals to enter into a general obligation annual appropriation loan agreement for the All Saints Addition housing project. The City is set to receive construction bids on the project on October 9th. Finally, the Council approved appointing Francis C. Marnin to fill Tim Young’s vacant seat on the Utility Board.
