The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.

The meeting began with the Council approving interfund transfers of $33,750 from the sewer fund and $77,395.21 from the electric fund in their fiscal year 2020 budget due to completion of capital projects. Finally, the Council approved directing City Administrator Lisa Grossman to purchase two residential-style kitchen ovens estimated at $485 each for the community center, to replace the existing industrial gas oven. Grossman said there was nothing faulty with the oven, but she had received complaints of a gas smell, and a draft in the kitchen has caused the stove’s pilot light to blow out several times. She was also recently approached by the Elderbridge Agency on Aging who owned the oven and expressed a desire of removing it from the community center. Grossman informed the Council that they had enough in their building fund to purchase two residential ovens, and showed them how the kitchen receives revenue from community rentals.
