It’s National Voter Registration Month, which is promoting the process to be able to vote.
Greene County Deputy Auditor Billie Hoskins says those who haven’t registered to vote or who may have moved and need to update their address, can do so before the upcoming November city and school board elections. The Greene County Auditor’s office is open from 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday and registration forms are available in the office, on the county’s website, or the Secretary of State’s website.
Hoskins notes pre-registration for the November election ends October 25th. Since the State Legislature made the change to combine city and school board elections together in November, Hoskins offers additional reminders for voters.
“We will be sending out a letter to all the voters that their polling place has changed from a regular school election to the combined city and school election. And also you can change your address or you can still register to vote when you come in to absentee vote, which absentee voting starts Monday, October 7th for the city and school elections.”
