A first-ever event is happening this weekend in Jefferson.

The Greene County Youth Athletic Association is hosting a Saturday Football Showdown with the program’s 5th and 6th grade tackle football teams. The game will be at Linduskia Field, next to the Greene County High School. Food, including hotdogs for $5 and burgers for $7 with chips and a drink, will be served from 5-6:30pm, with the game to start at 5:30. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio will also be there broadcasting live from 4-6pm along with playing music and making local announcements until 7. 

There will also be drawings for prizes, autographs with the varsity football players and will also be on-hand cheerleaders. The event benefits the Greene County High School football team and cheer squad, along with the GCYAA football players.
