The Adel Public Library is hosting several events this week for people of all ages, and the public is encouraged to attend the free activities.
First up, on Thursday the library is welcoming back Shari Hudson, owner of Shari’s Artful Expressions, for a crafting program. The event is open to kids in 5th grade through 12th, and the featured project will be making customized journals. There is limited space available, so preregistration is required. The activity will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bored Room at the library. All materials will be provided and there is no cost to attend.
The following day, the library is hosting a pair of programs, starting with an Author Talk for adults. Dallas County native Joseph LeValley will be on hand to discuss his book “Burying the Lede” on Friday starting at 11 a.m. in the conference room. Copies of the book will be available to check out or purchase. At 2 p.m., the library invites people of all ages to a showing of the recent film “Detective Pikachu.” Attendees can bring their own snacks and drinks, and popcorn will be provided. The movie is rated PG and has a runtime of one hour and 45 minutes. Both Friday events are free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
