The proposed changes to the Perry Waste Water Treatment Plant
One of the biggest upcoming projects for the City of Perry took another step forward recently, as the City Council approved the initial facility plan for the new wastewater treatment plant.
City Engineers Bolton and Menk presented the plan, and City Administrator Sven Peterson says it was one of the boxes the City needed to check off for the Department of Natural Resources, in order to keep the project moving forward. “This was the City Council approving the plans and design to go to the DNR, where they will approve it. So still looking at bidding this winter, and possibly starting construction next summer with a construction window of about 18-24 months. So whoever the contractor is that gets that project will be in town for quite a while.”
Peterson adds, the construction will be on the existing 25-year-old water plant. The plans will keep much of the existing buildings in tact, while completely renovating the interior.
