A Slater man was sentenced this week for violating his probation in Guthrie County.
Court documents show that 43-year-old Michael Lee Hanks violated the terms of his probation as stated in a report dated August 5th. A former Rippey resident, Hanks was serving four years probation for possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense, and operating while under the influence – second offense, from an October 2018 incident. The court ordered that Hanks’ probation be amended to direct his placement at the Residential Correctional Facility in Des Moines. Hanks will remain out of custody until notification that a bed is available at RCF. Hanks shall pay the costs of this action and all other terms of probation shall remain. Hanks is also subject to any attorney and jail fees charged against him.
