The Boone High School girls’ swimming & diving team won handily over Algona and Perry on Tuesday night in Boone. Coach Chris Mann’s Toreadors won 74-23 vs. Perry and 79-22 against Algona. Seniors Sophia Ausberger, Ellie Madson, and Julia Saul, are Greene County students swimming for Boone under an athletic sharing agreement.

Saul was on the first place 200 yard medley relay that won in 2:03.58. She also was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:13.61, and third in the 100 butterfly in 1:15.06.

Madson swam on the first place 400 freestyle relay that was clocked in 4:19.08, and she was fifth in the 50 freestyle in :29.44.

Ausberger picked up a first place finish as part of the 200 freestyle relay in 1:54.05, and was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.72.

Coach Mann said, “These girls performed beyond our wildest expectations at home for the first time this year. I can’t wait to watch where this team goes over the next seven weeks or so.”

Boone swims on Thursday at Des Moines East.
