The Lady Wildcats of West Central Valley gave Earlham a great game but fell just a few points short after losing 18-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 12-15 Tuesday in Earlham. It was a great matchup between two evenly matched teams, with the home team Lady Cardinals pulling away at the very end.
Sophomore Kathy Marlow saw her first action of the season as a setter, and had great success with 27 assists. The offense looked efficient for the most part, as Freshmen Emily Goodner had a career high of 16 kills, with senior Jenna Merical adding 10. Merical also added an impressive six aces as well.
The Lady Wildcats have shown good improvement every match so far, but the schedule doesn’t get any easier as they get back on the court tomorrow against Glidden-Ralston.
