Recent precipitation has improved drought conditions across the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area, while southeast Iowa sees drier conditions.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report shows most of Guthrie County, the northeast corner of Greene County, and the southern edge of Dallas County as having abnormally dry conditions. Southeast Iowa currently is in moderate drought, and the estimated number of people in drought areas is 393,212. There’s no change of precipitation in the listening area in the immediate forecast.
