A reminder for Greene County residents, as we celebrate Labor Day today, there are several offices and businesses that are closed.

The Greene County Courthouse, Greene County Community Center, Greene County Extension Office, Greene County Chamber and Tourism, Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post Office are closed in observance of the holiday. The library staff reminds patrons that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

Jefferson residents are reminded that due to the holiday, garbage routes will be delayed one day. The garbage routes will return to normal schedules next week. Residents are reminded to place garbage curbside by 6am to ensure pickup.
