An event returns to the Guthrie County Fair for those who wish to honor a loved one and maybe someone from the fair’s past.
The family of the late Bev Stringer is hosting their third annual “Light Up the Sky” at dusk Saturday at the fairgrounds in Guthrie Center. The public is invited to join the family and purchase a luminaria for $2 in memory of a loved one. The group will be meeting at the Grandma Bev Playground at the south end of the fairgrounds and will then proceed to the launch spot, which will be determined by wind direction. Stringer devoted much of her life to 4-H and the Guthrie County Fair. If you would like to purchase a luminaria, contact Jack Stringer at 641-747-3687.
