The Greene County High School volleyball and cross-country teams are in action today. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball team is on the road for the first time, traveling to Perry to meet the Jayettes, as well as Ft. Dodge St. Edmond. The cross-country girls and boys run on the Iowa State University course in Ames for the Gilbert Invitational.

Volleyball starts at 4:30 p.m. with St. Edmond and Perry meeting, then the Rams and Gaels play each other, followed by Greene County and the Jayettes. The Rams are 2-0 after winning close matches from Collins-Maxwell and Glidden-Ralston in Jefferson.

Cross-Country in Ames begins at 4:45 p.m. It’s a large field with 30 teams scheduled to compete. The Rams ran on Monday at the Jester Park Golf Course at the Woodward-Granger Invitational. Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s boys’ team was second among six teams and the girls were fourth among five squads.
