From carnival rides and grandstand entertainment to photography and quilt making classes, there’s something fun and free for everyone at the Guthrie County Fair this weekend.
This year the Fair Board is offering free grandstand entertainment, which includes a rodeo, truck and tractor pull, and figure eight races. Free carnival rides are a returning favorite each day of the fair, and there are plenty of other free events for kids and adults to take part in, particularly some arts and crafts-related classes in the Art and Ag Hall.
Fair Board Vice President Kendall Kipp says they strive to host a fun and affordable event for all residents, “We have a lot of support from the communities and the whole county and even outside the county and we’re just trying to make it a place for people to come bring your family, not try to take too much money from you and you get in the shows and into the grounds and hopefully we’re not charging you too much and then you can take in some good times good shows, see some things and not feel like you had to pay too much.”
Admission is free on the first day of the fair Thursday, and on Sunday those over 70 years old are also admitted free. Raccoon Valley Radio is broadcasting live at the Guthrie County Fair every day from the Big Red Radio. For more information and show results, visit our Guthrie County Fair page.
