A reminder that tomorrow will be the public open house for the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC).

The event will be held at the new location at 1006 North Vine Street. A dedication service will start the program at 6:30pm, with tours and refreshments available until 7:45.

First Baptist Church in Jefferson Reverend Devin Wolters, who works with the ARC Board with the Greene County Clergy Association, says the new food pantry allows clients to choose what foods they want, instead of having it given to them.

“There’s this ownership. There’s the ability to go through and pick out the foods that people want, as opposed to just giving them things. They might be allergic to it, or they might absolutely hate green beans. Now they get to have a voice and be empowered to go through and say, ‘Here are the foods that I really enjoy.’”

Wolters will lead a dedication service at 6:30pm, and then attendees can get tours of the interior of the building and enjoy refreshments.
