Iowa’s largest event is almost over, with Guthrie County 4-H and FFA members and residents earning recognition for varied talents at the state fair.

Panorama FFA was recognized for large metal working, and was the fifth ranked chapter in the Ag Mechanics competition. In the Pioneer Hall competitions, Lacey Partlow of Stuart earned first place in the age 18-49 fiddler division, and was named the runner-up grand champion overall. Guthrie County 4-H members have also earned blue ribbons and excellence awards in several communication and static exhibits, including the Sess Rangefinders, Ruby Hummel, Weston Ploeger, Joelle Grubbs, Morgan Lemke, Miranda Laabs, Wyatt Rudy, Gavin Pote, Abby Brooks, Rylee Sloss, Riley Gibson, Tanner Downing, Kelsey Carlson, Trey Derry, Cooper Tunink, Karleen Ploeger, Audrey Franzeen, and Sawyer Simmons.
