Superheroes aren’t always born, but made, and the same could be said for the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School Marching Band as they hold their annual band camp.

The group of about 50 students have spent this week preparing for this year’s half-time show which has a superhero theme. The music will feature themes from Spiderman, Captain America, and the Avengers.

Field Show Drum Major and senior Peyton Emgarten shares what she takes away from the camp, “I’ve really enjoyed just getting to see all the new incoming freshmen and everything, and seeing what they bring along to the table along with what we already had. I think it’s just really cool to see.”

Drumline Drum Major and senior Keisha Peters says the camp helps build camaraderie, “It’s band bonding, basically. It’s so much fun to get to meet everyone and I think for me it’s the best way to spend the last weeks of the summer, just getting back into the flow of things and meeting all the new people this year and ah, I love it so much.”

The ACGC Marching Band will perform in the Guthrie County Fair parade, homecoming parade, every home football game, and the Carroll Band Days in October.
