Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan is new here, although he went to high school in Gowrie, and was most recently an assistant coach in Panora. It’s his first stint as a head coach, but Duncan is surrounded by a coaching staff that’s experienced, and in the case of Bob Allen, went to high school here. Allen is a 1998 Jefferson-Scranton grad who was an All-State football player under then-head coach Bill Kibby.

Allen’s “real” job is as a bank officer. He’s also a family man, and was asked how he manages time to make it all work. “I really could not do it without the support of my wife, Bridgette, and our three kids for allowing me to do this. And, actually, it’s been such a fun opportunity to have them be a part of a football Friday night. Being a coach instead of a player, it’s kind of fun to have my family right there on the sidelines, especially after last year’s playoff run. It was just a great experience to share that with them.”

Tomorrow is the first day of full contact for the Rams and all high school football teams in Iowa.
