The City of Dexter is no longer under a drinking water advisory or boil order, as the samples tested for contaminants came back clean.
The trouble began Monday morning as a result of repairs on a water main leak. After the initial boil order was released, Dexter City staff was contacted by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and advised to change it to a drinking water advisory. The reason given was a lack of current data on the manganese levels of the City’s water supply. The City sent two water samples to the State Hygienic Lab for testing, and Wednesday afternoon those samples were deemed clear of contaminants.
