The Healthiest State Initiative is hosting their annual walk soon, and people can sign up now to participate.
Dallas County Public Health is partnering with the initiative organizers, as they seek to get people out and walking on October 2nd and beyond. The idea is to get people around the state to walk for 30 minutes or more that date, with individual cities hosting an assortment of events. In Dallas County, there are currently three Healthiest State walks scheduled, the first beginning at Love’s Daycare in Van Meter at 11 a.m., the second at Dallas Center-Grimes Middle School in Dallas Center at 11:30, and the third at Dallas County Hospital in Perry at noon. Residents are also encouraged to start their own private walks on October 2nd in their neighborhoods and cities.
This is the ninth year for the Healthiest State Initiative Walk, and those that register for the event will be eligible to win an assortment of prizes. For more information, including how to organize your own walk, click the link below to visit the official website.
