Several Guthrie and Adair county farm families will be honored for their century and longer ownership at the Iowa State Fair.

The Century and Heritage Farm program began in 1976, which celebrates farms that have been owned by the same families for 100 years and 150 years, respectively. Guthrie and Adair county farms that are receiving the Century Farm distinction are Cynthia Wirt Chew and David B. Chew of Panora, Patricia DeHaven of Stuart, and Janet Oberholtz and Joyce Wasson of Guthrie Center. Those receiving the Heritage Farm distinction are Gail Burdette Bailey of Guthrie Center, Alan and Crystal Farnsworth of Adair, Stephen L. and Pamela J. Klinkefus of Panora, Cheri and Roger Santi and Barbera and John Mahler of Yale, Dennis Sheeder of Guthrie Center, Loren Zaruba of Yale, and Phillip Patterson of Orient.

The 485 total families will be recognized throughout the day on Thursday August 15th at the livestock pavilion.
