A Jefferson business attended a safety conference to further knowledge of how to better protect school districts.
Bob Smith and Tim Buenz with TechZone/Central Iowa Systems recently went to the Campus Security Conference in Dallas, Texas. The conference provided information, breakout sessions, exercises and workshops about the best practices when it comes to situations regarding de-escalating toxic incidents, drug prevention, access control, incident management, and digital threats. Keynote speakers talked about the importance of human interaction and emergency preparedness panels. Additionally there were open discussions with experts on campus security issues, including acts of violence, severe weather, emergency notification, sexual assault and mental health.
With TechZone/Central Iowa Systems working with several school districts in the state, Smith and Buenz will be able to share the latest safety and security measures and technologies that will help districts stay up-to-date and explore new opportunities.
