The Greene County High School volleyball team ventured into the land of Class 5A at the Johnston tournament on Saturday and returned home without a single victory in matches or sets. Coach Donna Carhill’s Rams fell to 13-16 in matches and 36-45 in sets with losses to 5A schools Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines), Valley (West Des Moines), Marshalltown, and Class 4A Newton. Dowlling Catholic is ranked seventh in 5A and Newton is thirteenth in 4A.

Scores vs. Dowling Catholic were 7-21, 13-21; Valley 8-21. 11-21; Marshalltown 14-25, 16-25; Newton 13-21, 14-21.

Greene County plays in Perry on Monday night to close the regular season. The postseason for the Rams begins on Monday, Oct. 28 in Stuart vs. West Central Valley at 7 p.m. in a match that can be heard on KG98.
